At age 14, Luke Traina demonstrates a maturity well beyond his years. The 6 foot 1 inch 8th grader is quick, for a 145-pounder, and is hard to get around. The national championship on his resume, however, did not come cheap. Traina’s journey is one of determination through tough adversity and odds for a boy his age. The past year saw his father suffer a severe brain hemorrhage. He states that “His dad is his idol and his biggest fan,” and that is what gave him the strength to play as hard as he did. 

Traina’s eyes light up when he talks about his desire to win more championships and his insatiable desire to be the best and to outwork everybody else.
